I’ll be the first to admit that it can get overwhelming. I remember feeling like I was drowning in choices when I launched my first startup in my early twenties. 

But if there’s one thing those experiences taught me, it’s that the right tech can be a serious game-changer.

So today, I’d like to walk you through eight tech tools that I believe every small business should consider. 

These aren’t fluffy add-ons; they’re the sorts of tools that can make you more efficient, keep your data safer, and improve how you collaborate with your team and your customers.

Let’s dive in.

1. Cloud-based accounting solutions

I’ve learned the hard way that poor accounting can sink a business faster than you’d think. 

Back in the day, I attempted to juggle everything manually: invoices, receipts, random spreadsheets. It was a mess. 

Then I discovered cloud-based accounting solutions like QuickBooks Online and Xero, and everything shifted. 

Instead of wrestling with complicated Excel formulas, I had real-time financial data and automated reporting right at my fingertips.

In my experience, it also reduces stress—knowing my finances are in order allows me to focus on what I do best: growing the business.

That quote has stuck with me for years, because it’s so easy to get caught up in the frenzy of daily tasks and forget what’s actually moving the needle.

If you’ve ever juggled a bunch of clients or leads in a spreadsheet, you know how quickly things get out of hand—duplicates appear, phone numbers go missing, and you lose track of who’s who.

Investing in a CRM is a huge step toward building stronger, lasting relationships with customers.
