Microsoft has announced the first batch of new titles coming to Game Pass in October, including the critically acclaimed card game Inscryption and the martial arts brawler Sifu. These games will be available on various tiers of the Game Pass service. On October 2, MLB The Show 24 and Open Roads will join the Game Pass Standard library on consoles.

These titles were already available on Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and the now-discontinued Game Pass for Console. Sifu will also be added to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on the same day.

Two more games will be available on all Game Pass versions, except for Xbox Game Pass Core, in the coming days.

The physics-based party brawler Mad Streets will join the lineup on October 7, followed by Inscryption on October 10. Inscryption, a creepy roguelike deck-builder, is considered one of the best horror games available.

However, some titles will be removed from the Game Pass library on October 15 to make way for new additions and due to expiring licensing deals.

The games leaving the service include Dyson Sphere Program, Everspace 2, From Space, and F1 Manager 2023. Xbox is expected to add more titles to Game Pass in the second half of October, including the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. However, this title will not be immediately available on the Standard tier.

New titles join Game Pass

Inscryption, developed by Daniel Mullins Games and published by Devolver Digital, was named the game of the year in 2021. It features a mysterious and gripping gameplay that begins as a simplified roguelite card game played against a dimly lit opponent in a locked cabin.

As players attempt to escape, they discover an increasingly strange world beyond the card game. The card game itself is enjoyable, making it worth playing even without escaping the cabin. However, those who manage to break free will find themselves immersed in a bizarre and intriguing overarching story.

It is recommended to experience the game firsthand before diving into fan theories and post-release analyses. Other titles joining Game Pass this month include Mad Streets on October 7, as well as All You Need Is Help, Legend of Mana, and We Love Katamari Reroll Plus Royal Reverie, which are already available on the platform. As Microsoft removes titles from the Game Pass library each month, notable games leaving the service on October 15 include Scorn, which was released as a day-one Game Pass title in 2022.

The timing of its removal coincides with the game’s second anniversary, suggesting a two-year deal. Other titles leaving on the same day are Dyson Sphere Program, Everspace 2, From Space, and F1 Manager 2023. Game Pass members can save 20% on these titles if they wish to purchase them outright before they leave the service.

More removals are expected on October 31, so stay tuned for further updates.
