Kaspersky upgrades XDR and MDR for ICS

XDR upgrades

Kaspersky has introduced new enhancements to its native XDR platform and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services for Industrial Control Systems (ICS). These upgrades aim to help organizations, especially those lacking dedicated personnel, effectively manage key SOC functions. The need for these enhancements is driven by the increasing challenges and threats facing operational technologies (OT) and critical infrastructure.

IT-OT convergence, high regulatory requirements, and a rise in cyberattacks targeting the industrial sector have created a new reality for owners and operators of industrial infrastructures. According to recent data, malicious objects were blocked on almost a quarter (23.5%) of ICS computers in the second half of 2024.

Kaspersky’s enhanced ICS cybersecurity solutions

This highlights the persistent and significant level of threats and underscores the importance of prioritizing cybersecurity with comprehensive and reliable solutions. The key enhancements introduced in the new release of Kaspersky’s XDR platform include improved configuration and change management for OT infrastructure, new asset types for enhanced context during incident investigations, scheduled active polling and automated network topology visualization, increased capabilities to detect anomalies in digital substations, an SD-WAN sensor for monitoring traffic at geographically distributed sites, and an updated portable scanner with improved capabilities. These enhancements reflect Kaspersky’s commitment to providing robust cybersecurity solutions tailored for the unique needs of industrial companies.

The updated platform and services ensure that organizations can protect all their assets and processes against escalating cyber threats. As the industrial sector continues to face a challenging threat landscape, Kaspersky’s enhanced solutions offer a comprehensive approach to securing critical infrastructure and OT environments. By addressing the specific requirements and challenges of industrial cybersecurity, these upgrades enable organizations to strengthen their defenses and maintain the integrity of their operations in the face of evolving threats.
