BlackFog has won the “AI-based Cybersecurity Innovation of the Year” award in the 2024 CyberSecurity Breakthrough Awards. The company was recognized for its unique approach to fighting ransomware and data exfiltration using its Anti Data Exfiltration (ADX) technology. BlackFog’s ADX technology works by filtering network traffic in real-time using advanced AI algorithms.

This allows it to prevent data exfiltration and stop the spread of malware within an organization. The approach differs from traditional methods that focus on protecting the perimeter. Dr.

Darren Williams, CEO and Founder of BlackFog, said, “Ransomware is now the number one cybersecurity threat, and the stakes are higher than ever before. By taking a different approach using ADX, BlackFog blocks 99% of ransomware and 100% of our customers have never had a successful ransomware attack.

We’re honored to receive the CyberSecurity Breakthrough Award for ‘AI-based Cybersecurity Innovation of the Year.’ We understand the needs of our customers and are committed to protecting them from ransomware and other zero-day attacks across a broad range of platforms and legacy systems.”

The CyberSecurity Breakthrough Awards program received thousands of nominations from over 20 countries. It aims to celebrate excellence and innovation in various information security categories, including Cloud Security, Threat Intelligence, and Risk Management. Steve Johansson, Managing Director at CyberSecurity Breakthrough, commented on BlackFog’s achievement, “Ransomware attacks involving data exfiltration have hit an all-time high and most organizations are relying on 20+ cybersecurity tools to prevent them.

While other solutions are predominantly focused on watching the perimeter and trying to keep attackers out, BlackFog’s pioneering approach not only challenges the traditional cybersecurity paradigm but also effectively shields enterprises from the evolving tactics of cybercriminals.”

BlackFog’s ADX technology has also been recognized in other industry awards for its capabilities in threat intelligence, data leak detection, and ransomware protection. This highlights the importance of an on-device strategy in modern cybersecurity practices.
