Biden highlighted efforts to build a strong cyber workforce ready to meet current challenges.

The administration has invested in infrastructure projects across the country, ensuring that America’s workers are building semiconductors and making electric grids more resilient to cyber threats. The administration is convening the nearly 70 member countries and international organizations of the International Counter Ransomware Initiative to address the scourge of ransomware at both an operational and a policy level. Lynn Dohm, executive director at Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS), emphasized the importance of simplifying the message for the next generation, stating that this month isn’t just about raising awareness; it’s about shaping the future leaders of this field. Irfan Shakeel, vice president for training and certification services, highlighted the need for targeted cybersecurity measures in sectors like energy, transportation, and healthcare to enhance preparedness against real-world attack vectors.
