Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) has launched a suite of developer-centric offerings to simplify and accelerate the development of Intelligent Edge solutions. The company unveiled CodeFusion Studio, its first fully integrated software and security suite, along with a new Developer Portal and the ADI Assure Trusted Edge Security Architecture.

CodeFusion Studio is a comprehensive embedded software development environment based on Microsoft’s Visual Studio Code. It leverages an integrated development environment (IDE) and command-line interface, incorporating open-source configuration and profiling tools to streamline development on heterogeneous processors and drive efficiencies. The new development environment is available for download on ADI’s Developer Portal (developer.analog.com), a resource hub offering extensive documentation, support, partnerships, and community engagement.

CodeFusion Studio also supports the ADI Assure Trusted Edge Security Architecture, a universal hardware and software security foundation that provides a simple, flexible way to implement security in Intelligent Edge devices. Together, these offerings aim to provide customers with the tools and resources needed to bring products to market more quickly, with enhanced security and reliability.

Developer-centric offerings unveiled

By accelerating deployment times, customers can capitalize on the full value of the Intelligent Edge, leading to better business decisions, improved customer satisfaction, enhanced insights, and overall business growth. Gregory Bryant, president of Global Business Units at ADI, stated, “The complexity of embedded development at the edge is growing, demanding expertise in hardware, software, and security simultaneously. We believe we are uniquely positioned to provide deep expertise in integration and vertical technologies across diverse markets, making innovation faster, easier, and more cost-effective.”

Built on open-source solutions, CodeFusion Studio supports a variety of hardware, including select ADI microcontrollers, with more digital solutions anticipated in future versions.

The suite encompasses an IDE, software development kits (SDK), and productivity tools, created specifically for developers to reduce the time spent on debugging and deployment readiness while cutting costs. The ADI Assure Trusted Edge Security Architecture includes hardware security capabilities within select ADI products and software layers with application programming interfaces (APIs) available within CodeFusion Studio. Initially supporting the MAX32690 microcontroller, these security APIs will remain consistent across an expanding range of ADI platforms, easing software migration and meeting interoperability needs.

ADI’s Developer Portal reflects the company’s commitment to providing resources, including robust documentation, support, and community engagement while supporting open-source projects to create accessible solutions easily integrated with third-party solutions. Through this holistic approach, ADI aims to provide developers with the abstractions they need to work efficiently on heterogeneous processors and drive greater innovation at the Intelligent Edge.
