Calum Heath welcomes readers to today’s Connections forum, where they can find support for solving the puzzle and connect with other players. He warns that the article may contain spoilers, so it’s best to solve the puzzle first before reading on. Connections is released at midnight in each time zone.

To accommodate all players, there are two Connections Companions live every day, based on Eastern Standard Time. If you find yourself on the wrong companion, check the number of your puzzle and find the corresponding one. Readers are encouraged to post their solve grid in the comments and compare their score with the editor’s rating and other players’.

The difficulty of each puzzle is determined by a panel of testers who solve it in advance. Today’s difficulty is rated 2.8 out of 5. If you need a hint, each category in Connections has a different difficulty level.

Yellow is the simplest, while purple is the most difficult. You can click or tap each level to reveal one of the words in that category.

Mike Fazioli notes that today’s Sunday puzzle isn’t as challenging as the notoriously difficult Sunday Times crossword, but it’s still not easy. The puzzle features 16 words that need to be grouped into four categories based on a shared theme or commonality. The words for today’s puzzle are: PASTEL, POOL, SUNTAN, SCULPTURE, PRINT, THIRD, NEUTRAL, DRAWING, NEW, ALLOY, OPEN, NEON, LOTTERY, SAVE, GRAYSCALE.

Visual and verbal hints are provided for each category. The yellow group, which is the easiest, relates to color types and includes GRAYSCALE, NEON, and NEUTRAL. The blue group, with the theme “Chance to Win a Prize,” consists of DRAWING, LOTTERY, and POOL.

The green group, “File Menu Options,” includes NEW, OPEN, and PRINT. The purple group, the most difficult, is themed “What ‘Bronze’ Might Mean” and features ALLOY, SCULPTURE, and THIRD. Fazioli concludes by wishing players good luck and reminding them that the next Connections puzzle will be available next Saturday.
