Duolingo, the popular language learning app, has taken a bold step into the world of music by offering a portable piano designed to complement its new music course. The piano, a co-branded version of a digital keyboard, features a distinctive green color and a matching phone stand, allowing users to follow Duolingo’s music lessons while playing. The keyboard boasts 37 keys and a volume-adjusting knob, providing a beginner-friendly experience for aspiring musicians.
One of the most notable features of the piano is its velocity-sensitive keys, which adjust the volume output based on how hard or softly the keys are pressed.

This dynamic feature mimics the tactile feedback experienced with mechanical typing keyboards, adding a layer of realism to the playing experience.
Despite its compact size, measuring just 18.9 inches long and weighing 3.64 pounds, the piano comes equipped with built-in stereo speakers and a rechargeable battery that lasts up to eight hours on a single charge. The rear of the device includes octave shifter and sustain pedal ports, a USB-C jack for charging and MIDI transmission, and a 3.5mm headphone jack for silent practice sessions. While Duolingo’s music course currently only offers piano lessons and is compatible with any piano, the new collaboration with Loog comes with beginner-friendly flashcards and a compact design that allows for easy storage when not in use.
The Duolingo piano is available for preorder and is set to ship in November, marking an exciting expansion for the company as it ventures into the world of musical education.
