Apple has released the Apple Watch Ultra 2 in a new Satin Black color. The Ultra 2 offers several improvements over the Apple Watch Series 10. The Ultra 2 has a larger 49mm case size compared to the 42mm and 46mm options for the Series 10.

The Ultra 2’s case is made of titanium, while the Series 10 base case is aluminum with a titanium option. The Ultra 2 includes a dedicated ‘Action’ button and ‘Precision Start’ for workouts. It also offers cellular in all models, while the Series 10 only has it in certain models.

Battery life is a significant difference, with the Ultra 2 achieving approximately 2 days compared to the Series 10’s 1 day. The Ultra 2 also offers 12+ hours of GPS battery life, while the Series 10 offers 7 hours. The Ultra 2 is more durable, with a depth gauge certified to 40m/131ft compared to the Series 10’s 6m/20ft.

It also withstands water up to 100m, while the Series 10 is limited to 50m. The Ultra 2 includes an 86dB emergency siren and meets MIL-STD 810H standards.

The Ultra 2 features multiband/dual-frequency GPS/GNSS, while the Series 10 has regular GPS. The Ultra 2 has the S9 SIP chipset, and the Series 10 has the S10 SIP. The Ultra 2 has three microphones and dual speakers, while the Series 10 has one microphone and a single speaker.

The Ultra 2’s display is sapphire crystal with a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits, while the Series 10 has an LTPO3 OLED display with 2,000 nits. The Ultra 2 is heavier at 61.4-61.8g, while the Series 10 ranges from 29.3-41g. The Ultra 2’s back case combines ceramic and sapphire crystal, while the Series 10 uses metal and sapphire.

Both watches come with high-end features but cater to different needs. The Ultra 2 is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts requiring longer battery life and more rugged features, while the Series 10 offers excellent functionality at a lower price point.
