No Hassle Printing Out of the Office

It can be a real pain to print something from your laptop when you're visiting an office or hotel and don't have the right print driver installed on your computer. Your options aren't usually that appealing: asking a coworker to print the file, or getting the IT person to help you connect to the printer.

Xerox just released the Mobile Express Driver, a free downloadable print driver that lets mobile office workers print to any available printer on a network, whether it's a Xerox printer or not. To use it, users just plug into a network and open a print screen that lists all available printers on the network.

“The Mobile Express Driver removes a real road block for the office nomad who travels across the hall, down the road, or throughout the country for meetings,” said Russell Peacock, president, Xerox Office Group. “No matter where they are, workers can now print their documents in just a few clicks.”

The Mobile Express Driver, which can be downloaded for free from http://www.xerox.com/mobile for Windows XP and Vista, works with both Xerox and non-Xerox PostScript printers and MFPs. Once a printer or MFP is chosen, that device is saved in the user’s list of “My Printers” making it even easier to find and use for future print jobs. In addition, the interface of the Mobile Express Driver is instantly configured to show the available features for a selected printer or MFP, such as two-sided printing or scanning capabilities.
