DirectPointe's Small Office Solution: Integration of Google Apps
DirectPointe offers a range of managed services including PC, server and network services. With this package of solutions your company really doesn't have to do anything with technology, except to use it as a tool to grow your business.
DiretPointe can manage your entire IT infrastructure.
What I think is quite innovate, simple and smart is that they are adding Google Apps to their offering to make it very easy for customers to use Google Apps for their email and document manage needs through DirectPoint's centrally managed system.
By integrating Google Apps (now including presentations) with the network, DirectPointe provides a way for when a new user is added to the network, they are automatically provisioned with the same user name and password to Google Apps and have immediate, single sign-on access to their local domain as well as the collaboration tools in their Google Apps domain.
"As Google expands its productivity and collaboration offering, DirectPointe has worked quickly to ensure those applications are available to our customers," said DirectPointe CEO Michael Proper. "DirectPointe continues to manage all of a small office's IT needs using best-of-breed technologies, so those companies can focus on running their business."
What does DirectPointe do? It's most comprehensive service is to provide you with a computer for each of your employees. The computer is fully protected from viruses and other online threats. DirectPointe's service includes support and data back up as well.
DirectPointe provides you with a fully managed server. If there's a problem, DirectPointe will know, probably before you do.
Ensuring your network is protected and that you can access network files via a VPN can be a full time job. DirectPoint handles this as well.
If you want a lower cost solution, you can purchase DirectPointe's Small Office Office Solution which provides you with a central server that is fully managed and manages and protects your existing computer system.
DirectPointe's service includes backup, software updates and content filtering.
I'm excited about DirectPointe's use of Google Apps but honestly - I think DirectPointe's full service offering is more important and one of the best solutions I've seen for small business IT management.
The Utility Company's connected office, provides a similar offering to DirectPointe's managed services.
