Verizon Wireless Broadband - Keeps Getting Better

For the past several months I've been using Verizon Wireless mobile broadband and I'm very impressed. It's early in the morning and right now I'm getting speeds of 112.3MB received. My past few logons have been: 2.3MB, 1.2MB, 6.3MB, 155.9KB and 12.5MB.

As you can see the speed fluctuates. For email and web use - it's just perfect.

Last week, Verizon Wireless announced it has expanded its local Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) third generation (3G) wide-area network to cover more than 95 percent of the New York Metro area population.

ATT&T (Cingular) and Sprint offer this service as well.

If you need to be productive on the road and are not always near a WiFi hot spot, mobile broadband service is simply a must. It costs about $50 - $80 a month with a contract and it's worth it if you can be productive all the time.

I've found that when I logoff and logon again, if there's a slower connection often the speed improves.
