The Birth of a New Franchise: The Utility Company
The Utility Company provides small businesses with a range of technology services - from management to "break-fix" for one monthly fee. Your network, individual computers, help desk, email - everything - is provided to you for one monthly fee.
What's new is that the Utility Company is launching a franchise system so that local or regional consultants can resell its services. Satish Damle, a veteran technology consultant located in Alpharetta, Georgia signed on with The Utility Company for exclusive territory rights within the North Atlanta region.
What does this mean to you?
You will have a greater variety of technology solutions to choose from. The Utility Company offers one solution, Geek Squad, Circuit City, CompUSA, Geeks on Call and other companies offer competing solutions.
Of course don't forget your local, independent solution provider as well. They might be selling an offering from the Utility Company or have their own solution. Get recommendations from friends. Check references. Observe if the consultant listens or just talks.
