Small Business Server: 10 Things To Know

Microsoft's Small Business Server is the leading server software for small businesses. It's got a lot of features at a low price and is ideal for businesses with 75 or less computers. Once you go over the 75 license limit you can upgrade to Windows 2003 for a more robust server experience.

Tech Target has put together a list of "top ten" advice before you consider installing SBS, which includes:

75 Users and/or devices is the max

There are two versions

Five CALs is standard

There are two types of CALs

Use the wizards

Leverage the To Do List

Select the internal name carefully

SBS prefers multiple NICs

You need not jump on the R2 bandwagon

When you do jump on the R2 bandwagon, the ride may be cheap
