Microsoft Office Live Users Get Better Email

Those users who started with Microsoft Office Live will be migrated over to the new Windows Live Mail technology in October according to an email Microsoft sent to Office Live users.
Here's how the new interface will look:

The email sent today reads:
What can you expect from your new e-mail?
Your Office Live e-mail will be faster, simpler, and safer than ever before. We listened to feedback from thousands of real people to help make your business communications easier.
In the next few weeks, you will be receiving an e-mail from us detailing some of these new features and letting you know when your Office Live e-mail will be updated.
By offering Office Live for free, although everyone who took advantage of the free offer is NOT an active user (like me), Microsoft is able to send messages to them and hopefully (for Microsoft) over time some of the users will become active users and/or stay with Office Live and not Google, Blue Tie or some other platform.
Although there are many competitors for hosted email and other services the two big rivals who are going to fight intensely are Microsoft and Google.
