50 Year Old Law Firm Gets into Voip with M5

M5 Networks, an outsourced IP phone system provider, announced that Montfort, Healy, McGuire & Salley, a 45-person, Long Island-based legal firm specializing in personal injury law, replaced its legacy, premises-based Mitel phone system with M5's outsourced solution after flood damage to their telecommunications closet seriously disrupted business operations.
Learning about outsourced VoIP technology from its third-party communications
consultant, Telesis Communications Services, the law firm signed up for M5's solution because of its reliability, low maintenance and simple deployment process.
Prior to the office flooding, Donald S. Neumann, Jr., managing partner of Montfort, Healy, McGuire & Salley, was unfamiliar with VoIP technology and would never have considered it a possibility for his firm. During the subsequent emergency, finger-pointing between the phone system maintenance company, the phone service provider and the PBX manufacturer intensified the problem and prompted Neumann to work with Telesis to quickly find an alternative. George Brennan, vice-president and co-founder of Telesis Communication Services, stepped in and immediately recognized that an outsourced IP phone system would resolve the firm's issues.
Brennan contacted M5 Networks and a staff member rushed out the same day to connect five VoIP phones and a receptionist solution into Montfort, Healy, McGuire & Salley's undamaged Internet connection. This relieved the firm's employees of the need to rely on personal cell phones for business communications. A few weeks later, the firm was completely up and running on M5's Outsourced IP Phone System with a private T1 connection to M5's hardened data center.
"When our premises-based phone system went down, it took a full day of making phone calls, waiting for vendor responses and getting commitments promised to us to get our phone system back up. It was a major distraction to our employees," said Donald S. Neumann, Jr., managing partner of Montfort, Healy, McGuire & Salley. "As a law firm that works on dozens of client cases simultaneously, our clients could not risk this type of business disruption again. By switching to an outsourced phone system, we now have a more advanced and more reliable solution along with greater peace of mind knowing that M5 and Telesis are fully responsible for all of our voice and data needs."
