Manage Multiple USB Devices: Place Them On the Network
The traditional scenario of a USB device is that you have one or more USB devices connected to one PC and that PC can only control the USB device. If you have a scanner, for example most of us connect it to our computers. However, what if you could take your USB devices and connect them to a network for shared access by your team?
Silex has a solution. The SX-1000U is a USB device server and connects nearly any USB device, including printers, scanners, storage devices, electronic whiteboards, and digital cameras to a network. The SX-1000U easily converts these devices into shared resources, making it one of the most convenient equipment additions to any home-based business or small office environment.
For example, the SX-1000U allowed the one small business person to connect to their home network two printers, a Canon 820 and a Samsung 1740; a Canon scanner, two external hard drives, two digital cameras, a Canon Powershot and a Vivitar 4400, which are used to take ¬?before¬? pictures of jobs that he is working on for his excavating business.
