NYC: Cell Phone Access On Trains
Some people get very upset thinking that NYC strap-hangers can now talk on cell phones when on the train. I can, in some ways, understand them as some people have no clue how to talk on a cell phone in public (they talk too loud for example).
However, the writing is more than on the wall that soon we'll be able to have coverage of our cell phones in train stations. Being able to use your cell phone on a NYC train is not going to change the commute too much as often one is standing on the train and there's little room.
AP writes Several major wireless carriers submitted bids Wednesday to wire 277 New York subway stations for cell phone use, including one proposal that involves four of the nation's biggest carriers forming an alliance.
