Lenovo Notebooks in Office Depot
For the first time since 1999 you can now buy Lenovo ThinkPad in a retail store - Office Depot. I would expect this is the first of many plans Lenovo has to re-enter the retail distribution market.
The Office Depot press release reads Office Depot customers will now be able to experience the new widescreen, titanium-encased Lenovo ThinkPad Z60t, and the Lenovo ThinkPad T43 with integrated fingerprinter reader, at any of the more than 1,000 Office Depot stores across the country. The nationwide rollout begins November 6th.
"Lenovo shares Office Depot's philosophy of bringing our business customers the most innovative products to help them succeed, and the new series of ThinkPad notebooks is no exception," said John Lostroscio, Vice President of Merchandising, Office Depot. "In fact, Office Depot employees also use ThinkPads as part of their daily business, another testament to our customers that they're using the best products available anywhere today."
The award-winning ThinkPad notebooks are recognized throughout the industry for their quality and reliability, and feature such innovative technologies as an integrated fingerprint reader, embedded security subsystem, and an Active Protection System air bag-like technology which protects the user's data in case the notebook is dropped.
"Small business customers appreciate the convenience of Office Depot stores and will now be able to experience for themselves the innovative new ThinkVantage Technologies and ThinkVantage Design features that make our notebooks easier to use, more reliable than ever before, and the most secure in the industry," said Deepak Advani, chief marketing officer, Lenovo.
