Network Solutions in a New York GoCart Race and a Race for Small Businesses

Network Solutions, one of the leading Internet services companies was in NYC this week for a marketing show with IndyCar Series rookie of the year, Danica Patrick and talk show host, Tony Danza. I usually don't write about event promotions but I think this one was pretty nice how Network Solutions did it.

I also think how Network Solutions has rebranded their company, from a boring "tech" company into a fun "solutions" company has been done very well. They'll need everything they can do, to compete against GoDaddy.com's low price and good customer support and Register.com's ease of use.

Network Solutions writes - Champ Mitchell, Chairman and CEO of Network Solutions, was on hand to welcome the crowds, present Danica Patrick with the winner's circle race jacket and receive a proclamation from New York City Deputy Commissioner of Small Business Services, Mark Newhouse. The proclamation, signed by Mayor Michael Bloomberg, declared October 20, 2005 "New York City Small Business Day," in recognition of Network Solutions event encouraging small businesses to "race to Network Solutions" to drive their business online.

"In 2005, small businesses are expected to spend more than $1.2 billion on Web site development alone.
