Dell Uses Verizon for New Notebook
Since businesses want to ensure they can be connected wherever they are, computer vendors are building high-speed wireless connectivity via phone company networks into their notebooks.
WiFi is great and is growing in popularity but it is not as widely available as a telephone signal.
Reuters writes Dell Inc. plans to sell a laptop computer early next year with a built-in connection card for Verizon Wireless' high-speed service, the companies said on Monday.
Sony already has a notebook that uses Cingular's network, look for HP and others to follow.
If you MUST have connectivity having a blend of WiFi and cellular connectivity is a good option to have.
