CA Joins Microsoft's Backup Solution
If you are looking for a Microsoft centric backup solution to go with your Microsoft server, using Microsoft's Data Protection Manager is a solution for you to consider, especially with more industy partners such as CA joining.
Computer Associates International, Inc. (NYSE:CA) announced that BrightStor ARCserve Backup will provide support for Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM) 2006, enabling IT organizations to implement extended data protection that is integrated with DPM 2006 technologies. The announcement was made during Storage Decisions 2005 in New York City.
By adding the high performance disk-to-disk and disk-to-tape backup, recovery and archiving capabilities in BrightStor ARCserve Backup to DPM, customers will be able to safeguard DPM servers and other servers, applications and databases -- facilitating offsite backups and enabling fast restoration of a single file to the entire DPM server.
