Cheaper Laptops Can Be Great Too

I have a Gateway notebook and like it very much. But yesterday for some reason my wireless card stopped working! I also like, IBM ThinkPads solidly built and the X series is just sweet. Toshiba's Porteges are very good. Sony - fancy, but I think you pay too much for them.

There are other brands such that make great notebooks too. Don't ignore them the Washington Post advises.

The Washington Post writes When you're buying something as pricey as a new laptop, it takes courage to stray from the comfort of established names like Dell, IBM and Sony. And it's the sort of courage that can easily lead to "penny-wise, pound-foolish" regrets after the purchase.

But there are cheaper laptop alternatives that don't involve a multi-thousand dollar bet on Brand X.
