IBM knows how to advertise: SOLUTIONS

There are many advertisements that focus on the technology of a company instead of the solution. These advertisements are "ok" but do not help potential customers understand what the vendor's technology can do for them. What particular SOLUTION it provides to THEM.

Reuters writes Six new IBM television commercials feature a "help desk" where attendants solve real-life problems rather than rewiring or starting up an actual computer, evoking the company's move into a services and consulting role from purely technology.

"We wanted to show that we're not just talking about technology for technology's sake... but things that affect not only business but the world and society at large," said Deirdre Bigley, IBM's vice president of worldwide advertising.
