Anti-Spyware from Microsoft: It Works Well
I have just downloaded and used Microsoft's Ant-Spyware beta tool. It's good, fast and simple. The installation routine gave a few simple options. The last question being should it scan my computer now.
I went ahead and scanned my computer and it did find one spyware. It was something I downloaded called Crime Catcher that connects to PC a video camera and allows it to operate as a security system.
I'm not sure how Microsoft's tool stacks against any others on the market - but it's free and works well from what I can tell. Download your copy from here and try it for yourself - you've got nothing to lose.
