Solar Power for your gadgets

Battery life is one of the biggest limitations for mobile devices. PDAs last for days at a time as they are not used as much or extensively as other devices. But notebook computers, cell phones, smart phones and other things consume a lot of juice - especially when in use and not on "stand by".

Although these devices can not, yet, charge notebook computers CNN writes From houses, cars, and even clothing, solar power is bringing new innovations to light. The latest bright idea is the solar backpack -- and two hit the market this year from companies Voltaic Systems and Eclipse Solar Gear.

The companies say their traveling generators provide enough power in one compact mobile unit to keep your cell phones, iPods, PDAs and most other personal electronics ready to run.
