Data/Voice: Coming to an airplane near you
Using a combination of services from one of the large telecommunication providers you can access data or talk on the phone from many places in the globe. As long as you are on land. When you get into an airplane you have very few, if any options for data or voice accessibility. That may change...in several years.

The FCC is considering relaxing the current ban on communication devices in airplanes, according to the NY Times. Some users, and I agree, don't want their plan ride filled with yapping fellow flyers. However, the great benefit of relaxing this rule will be access to DATA communications - email and the web, thus increasing productivity and as the NY Times article wrote, "billable hours".
