Alpha Five Database Beats Microsoft Access and FileMaker Pro

For over a decade, PC User magazine has been a premiere source of concise, easy to understand information business PC users. With over 348,000 readers monthly, PC User's authoritative, practical advice has fueled its reputation as the most reader-driven publication in its market.

Each year, PC User honors the top performers in hardware and software. This year, Alpha Five Version 6 beat out both FileMaker Pro and Microsoft Access for top honors in the Best Database Software category, says PC User judge Rose Vines.

"There are usually two complaints leveled at database programs: they're either too complex, or they're not powerful enough. Access gets hit with the former complaint; FileMaker with the latter. Alpha five cleverly sidesteps both accusations."

"The hottest new feature in version 6 is extensive support for building Web applications. Alpha Five includes a Web application server and a standards-complaint Web Component Builder, allowing you to publish your data (from any format) on the Net and provide access to it via any browser."
