Radio Frequency Identfication options expand

RFID enables businesses to keep better track of their products - inventory, theft reduction, shipment tracking and more. As more and more companies begin to use the technology the cost to implement solutions witll come down. IBM and other companies are pushing to be leaders in this emerging technology market.

News Factor writes IBM Latest News about IBM has unveiled a collection of new services designed to bring the benefits of radio-frequency identification (RFID) systems to industrial firms and mid-size businesses. The goal is to help smaller companies comply with mandates to adopt the technology by Wal-Mart Latest News about Wal-Mart, the Department of Defense and other organizations.

Services for industrial companies include consulting, development of the RFID business proposition, technological proof of concept and full rollout of the tagging systems. IBM has targeted companies in the automotive industry, along with firms in the aerospace and defense, manufacturing, chemical and petroleum, forest and paper, and electronics areas.
