VOIP - be careful what you ask for
Althought companies CAN save money and get advanced features by switching to VOIP from traditional phone service, there are downsides to VOIP also.
Cnet reports that some downsides are you might not get 911 service, your alarm system might be affected, Tivo won't work and you can't get your number listed in the phone book.
"With VoIP, there are obviously some limitations," said Paul Alfieri, a spokesman for Motorola's broadband division.
So, before you dive into VOIP make sure you know the PROS and the CONS
