BACKING UP YOUR DATA COULD SAVE YOU HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS
The hard disk of a Dell Optiplex crashed yesterday. At same time "Murphy's Law" kicked in and when I called Dell they informed me that the warranty had expired last month!
So now I'm on a hunt to find a data recovery company in NYC. Prices are from $200 and up. One service charges nothing if they can not recovery your data, most however, charge an hourly rate and will charge you whether they recover your data or not.
Stay tuned for how things work out.
PS - lesson learned: BACKING up your data solves these headaches and worries. If a hard disk fails you just put another one in and re-load your software.
