$1,495 - the cost of not backing up data

As I reported to you earlier, a hard disk of a colleague crashed. The data was not backed up and so we sent it off to a data recovery lab. The disk had several problems but the biggest was a mechanical failure.

The cost to recover the data is $1,495. If the data was backed up we could have just purchased a $100 hard disk (80GB or so) and been on our merry way.

Well YOU KNOW the lesson - back up your data.
