Switching Smoothly From PocketPC to Palm

A NY Times readers asks I use a PocketPC organizer and would like to switch to a Palm. How can I get my data from one to the other without having to re-enter it?

The NY Times respponds Pocket PC organizers use a version of Microsoft Outlook to manage calendar and contact information and to synchronize the data between hand-held and desktop computers. Palm organizers come with the Palm Desktop program instead, but you do not have to use it; you can continue to use Outlook. (full story)
