EarthLink brings cell phone service to BlackBerry
Internet service provider EarthLink (ELNK) in May will begin selling cell phone service on BlackBerry e-mail devices, the company is expected to announce Monday.
The move by the No. 3 ISP shows just how similar Internet and phone companies have become.
The voice service will cost $40 to $75 a month รณ about what traditional cell phone companies charge. Deals with other phone makers are in the works, EarthLink says. EarthLink won't own its own cell phone network but will buy capacity wholesale. (full story)
