It was that static. Palm solution
Well thanks to Google, I found someone (many) who had the same problem with their Palm.
As I suspected, after the second time around, when I touched my Palm , the static electricity that happened has made the Palm not synch. According to Palm's technical support, in India, they said the ESD (Electro Static Discharge) makes the USB chip discharge the battery too fast - hence causing synch problems.
Well I called Palm's support and they will send me, for free an SD card to solve the problem.
Only thing, why didn't Palm have this information on their web site. It appears I'm not the only one with the problem. All that I see is a reference to ESD but no mention of the solution - the FREE SD card is on their web site.
