Washington Post: PalmOne to Cut About 100 Workers
My spin: I hope the employees who were let go, get jobs somewhere else. PalmOne has to make a strategic decision and I guess this is a part of it.
PalmOne Inc., the maker of handheld electronic organizers, Wednesday said it's cutting about 100 workers, or 12 percent of its staff, as it shifts its emphasis toward cell phones with organizer functions.
The Milpitas-based company said it has started the second phase of an integration process that started with its October acquisition of rival Handspring Inc., known for its Treo "smartphones."(full story)
