ZDNet: New tablet PCs: Better--but still not perfect
Microsoft's Tablet PC OS and a bunch of new tablets that support it are among the meager highlights of a Comdex politely described as "sedate" by some and "dead on arrival" by others. The show, such as it is, limps along through tomorrow.
IF I WERE ASKED to wager on long-term survival, I'd give tablet PC--now a year old--100-to-1 odds over Comdex. The tablets, both present and future, were spotlighted in Bill Gates' keynote (during which--ahem --he quoted a recent column of mine) and have a strong presence on the show floor. (full story)
