The Mercury News: Red Hat down as Gateway to offer rival Linux's code

Red Hat Inc. stock fell Monday after news that Gateway Inc. will begin offering a rival's version of the Linux operating system. Shares of Red Hat traded down 7 percent, or 90 cents, at $12, in the afternoon on the Nasdaq Stock Market. (full story)
