Washington Post: Ohio Suit Says AOL Deceived Customers
The state of Ohio sued America Online Inc. yesterday, alleging that the Internet service deceived more than 250 customers by continuing to bill them after they called to cancel their monthly subscriptions. (full story)
My spin: I'm not surprised by this suit. HOWEVER, I know that AOL's cancel process can be cumbersome and time consuming as opposed to how easy it is ti sign up. THEREFORE, some users could be charged because they did not follow AOL's cancellation directions.
