News Factor: What To Do When Your Systems Integrator Is Acquired
Siebel (Nasdaq: SEBL) is acquiring UpShot. Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL) has designs on PeopleSoft (Nasdaq: PSFT). Pivotal (Nasdaq: PVTL) merged with Talisma (okay, that one was not such a shock). The point is, mergers and acquisitions are the hot topic in the tech sector. While most people now know about the protective measures they can take if their key software vendor is acquired, few are planning for another disturbing scenario: acquisition of their systems integrator.
"It's just not an issue that is on that many companies' radars -- at least, it's not when they are actually negotiating a contract with the systems integrator," Gartner research analyst Beth Eisenfeld told CRMDaily.com (full story)
