IBM Wants To Protect Your Privacy
NEW YORK - The number of people doing online banking is expected to grow, compounded, at 14% annually over the next five years. That number might be even higher, were it not for growing fears about privacy and security.
Today IBM (nyse: IBM - news - people ) and privately held Watchfire announced a product designed to give companies a comprehensive, automated view of their Web sites. This includes notifications of errors and broken links, but it also closely monitors compliance with stated privacy and security policies. IBM declined to discuss the financial terms of the deal.
