Cnn: Microsoft goes after Google
Microsoft, which is trying to drive growth by investing in everything from small business software to video games, has quietly set its sights on a new industry -- searching the Web. (full story)
My spin: Nothing new hear, MS is going after anything that has a bit or byte - online or offline. Can it succeed. It will succeed, in a way, by default. It can build a search engine into its products and direct users by default where it wants. HOWEVER, if the SE is not that great, savvy users will just go to Google on their own.
