Sydney Morning Herald: Symantec to introduce product activation
My spin: Well no more "sharing" Symantec's products with friends.
News Clip: Symantec has decided to introduce product activation for all of its upcoming consumer products, starting with Norton Antivirus 2004.
Customers who do not activate the product within 15 days of installing it will be left with an application that does not work.
Symantec regional product manager Norman Kohlberger said the activation had been introduced as a response to the degree of piracy of Norton products. (More information)
