Gartner projects rapid growth for hot spots
My spin: I think that the service will reach "critical mass" (I hate how Gartner uses that phrase in this instance) much sooner. Most notebooks now come with built in wireless capacity. The key is for vendors, vars and other influencers to educate customers on the benefits of wireless and how to use it.
InfoWorld News Clip: The number of wireless LAN (WLAN) hot spots worldwide will more than double by 2005, but the services are unlikely to reach "critical mass" until three to five years from now, according to a Gartner analyst. (full story)
