Washington Post: A $200 Computer Can Perform, Barely
My spin: If you are getting a $200 used computer as I have done on many occassions you can get a decent PC (my last one was 700Mhz, plenty for me).
News Clip: So you need a new PC, but your stock portfolio has gone up in flames, your savings account is dwindling and you've already sold your baseball-card collection on eBay. Here's the good news: If you can sell what's left of that dot-com stock for $200, you can afford a new computer that's usable.
We tested three ultra-low-price PCs sold by Tiger Direct, Walmart.com, and Nova Computech. They required compromises, but they generally worked surprisingly well and offered room to grow. (full story)
