News Clip: The long hours and restless nights of the dedicated IT worker have come home to roost. In a recent survey of IT managers, Meta Group found that 71 percent of those surveyed said employee burnout is a serious issue among their staffs. Companies are offering cash incentives and skills development programs to boost morale. But tension and unhappiness still abound in IT shops, where layoff threats loom and there is anxiety about having to make do with fewer resources.
