Forbes: Gateway Falling Farther Behind The Herd
My spin: Is it hopeless for Gateway, I don't think so. Does it have to do some more radical changes - sure. Can it do so? You bet it can.
News Clip: NEW YORK - Gateway, which was once a force to be reckoned with in the PC industry, today unveiled more bad news, which may make a recovery even more challenging.
In a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing, Gateway (nyse: GTW - news - people ) said an unspecified U.S. attorney's office is investigating its fiscal 2000 financial results. That's on top of an existing investigation by the SEC for the same time period. The investigation was the main revelation of the quarterly filing, which also drove home Gateway's many problems.
