Walmart.com to Sell LindowsOS As First Standalone Non-Microsoft Operating System
My spin: This sounds all nice and cute...Lindows, Lindows, Lindows - but at the end of the day, when a user walks into their local Staples or CompUSA and wants to buy the software their friends and colleagues have...their stuck and either can't use the software (Windows based) we all use so much or will use it with difficulty. I'm no Microsoft cheer leader, but you can't ignore the facts.
SAN DIEGO, Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Lindows.com, Inc. announced today that Walmart has chosen LindowsOS as their first standalone operating system, not made by Microsoft, to be sold on their retail website, walmart.com ( www.lindows.com/walmartos ).
